The Aravis is Berthoud’s medium-width leather saddle, made with titanium rails. Just as great as the Aspin, but a touch lighter. It’s perfect for long-distance riding and touring and generally any bike set-up where your saddle is level or slightly lower than your handlebar. In this case your position on the bike will be slightly more upright, so you need more support. It’s common knowledge in cycling cyrcles that comfort on a bike depends on the three contact points between bike and body: pedals, handlebar, saddle … so make sure you treat your derrier with the respect that it deserves and get yourself a leather saddle. A berthoud leather saddle, apart from being a beautiful object, is made with peak quality. Over time it will take the shape of your anatomy and become extra comfy. We have been riding on the Aspin or on the Aravis for years now on all sorts of terrains: they are so comfortable that on shorter rides (up to a couple of hours) you can go without a chamois, giving you extra flexibility and freedom. Every single part of their saddle is replaceable, so this is truly a lifetime companion.
